Westchester is a neighborhood that straddles the Westside Region of Los Angeles County. The neighborhood is part of the City of Los Angeles and is known for its secluded character, but most especially, its convenient location next to Los Angeles’ primary airport: LAX.
The Los Angeles International Airport takes up the southwestern portion of Westchester territory. It is the home of Loyola Marymount University, the Otis College of Art and Design, and Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnet Schools. Examples of Googie-style architecture are prominently found within the neighborhood’s borders.
